Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

MECCA’s Finance team is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function and a team of three officers. This role combines hands‑on operational leadership with people development, stakeholder partnership and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team, managing workloads and fostering a high‑performing environment.
• Oversee end‑to‑end invoice and payment processing, including supplier records, payment cycles, exceptions and vendor queries.
• Manage AP cash forecasting and payment requirements, partnering with Finance and business teams to identify risks.
• Own AP month‑end and year‑end close activities, reconciliations and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across AP processes, systems and controls.
• Support ERP transformation, including data cleansing, migration and change management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an accounts payable or transactional finance team in a high‑volume environment, preferably retail.
• Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end accounts payable, payment controls, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Demonstrated people leadership skills with ability to coach and develop a high‑performing team.
• Process‑driven mindset with strong judgement and organisational skills.

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP and accounts payable systems.
