Accountant – Public Practice

About the role

Cutcher & Neale is seeking motivated accountants to join its Accounting and Taxation teams. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting and advisory services while developing your technical expertise and client‑facing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and compliance work for a range of clients.
• Support advisory service delivery and respond to client queries.
• Work across various entity types, including companies, trusts, partnerships and unit trusts.
• Collaborate with senior team members to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and add value to clients.
• Complete work accurately and within required timeframes.
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation, systems and best practices.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting or a related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in a public practice accounting firm of similar size.
• Progressing towards or completed CA qualification.
• Experience preparing work for companies, trusts, partnerships and unit trusts.
• Exposure to a variety of industries and client types.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Professional communication style with a desire to move into client‑facing work.
• Team‑first mindset and willingness to learn and grow.
