Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join Omnicare Alliance Ltd’s finance team in Port Macquarie. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Strategy, you will act as the right‑hand person for month‑end and year‑end processes, reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and adjustments.
• Prepare management reports with variance analysis and commentary for the executive team and Board.
• Compile the annual budget in collaboration with senior management and operational leaders.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, GAAP and all statutory obligations.
• Oversee BAS, GST reconciliations and FBT reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes, using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Support operational managers to build financial literacy across the organisation.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor the Finance Officer.
• Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives alongside the Head of Finance & Strategy.

Required profile

• Professional accounting body membership (CPA or CA) or near‑completion of studies.
• Hands‑on accounting experience in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non‑financial stakeholders.
• Proactive, change‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Strong systems and technology orientation.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and GAAP.
• Experience with BAS, GST and FBT reporting.
• Expertise in month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Financial reporting, budgeting and variance analysis.
