Accountant

About the role

The Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is central to Hesperia’s finance function. You will manage fund and project accounting, taxation, compliance and investor administration across a diverse property and funds portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end fund and project accounting, including monthly cost processing, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial reporting for investors and financiers, coordinate year‑end statements with auditors and external providers.
• Manage taxation compliance, including Business Activity Statements, income‑tax working papers and investor tax statements.
• Administer entity management, banking, debt‑facility payments, capital calls, distributions and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Provide financial information for Project Control Groups, Investment Committees and investor reporting, ensuring governance and statutory compliance.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting policies, internal controls, systems and processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proactive ownership of tasks in a structured, compliance‑driven environment.
• Curious, eager to learn and identify process improvements.
• Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships at all business levels.

Required skills

• Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) or working towards it.
• Sound understanding of accounting and taxation matters, preferably in property or funds management.
