Accountant

About the role

This position is ideal for a motivated individual who is not yet a graduate accountant but aspires to grow into a senior role. You will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met, communication is clear, and clients are delighted with the service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for assigned clients.
• Compile financial statements and support senior staff with tax planning documentation.
• Participate in VCFO and management reporting meetings as required.
• Run review processes on BAS and ITR submissions before sending them to clients.
• Draft responses to client queries for senior accountant approval.
• Track weekly utilisation using the Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet and communicate workload status to managers.
• Assist in developing and updating accounting policies, procedures, and system improvements.

• Not a graduate yet but eager to develop accounting expertise.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Proactive communicator who can collaborate with senior accountants and managers.
• Willingness to suggest and implement process improvements.
