Accountant

About the role

The Pallas Group is seeking an Accountant to join its Sydney Head Office in Double Bay. The role is full‑time, onsite, and supports the finance function of its funds‑management and property development businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Manage end‑to‑end invoice processing, including payment setup and execution.
• Maintain the Shadow Loan Register and calculate monthly interest for third‑party loan facilities.
• Support broker trail payments and validate payment statements from securitised trusts.
• Process investor transactions, including allocations, transfers, and redemptions.
• Coordinate investor distribution payments across multiple entities.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes and financial reporting.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Liaise with external auditors and service providers during audit processes.
• Document policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring alignment with risk and regulatory frameworks.
• Identify and help resolve issues, driving continuous improvement across processes and systems.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Financial Services.
• Proven experience preparing management accounts and supporting financial reporting.
• Strong background in general ledger management, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Exposure to BAS preparation, audit processes and financial compliance.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Experience with Xero or MYOB accounting systems.
