Accountant – Intermediate (2-4 years)

About the role

Sandford Accounting is seeking an intermediate accountant with 2‑4 years of public practice experience to join its growing team in Pennant Hills, NSW. You will manage a portfolio of trade and small‑business clients, handling tax returns, financial statements and advisory work while developing a path towards partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Perform bookkeeping, BAS/IAS preparation and lodgement.
• Manage a client portfolio as the primary day‑to‑day contact.
• Liaise with the ATO on lodgements, amendments and queries.
• Support partners with advisory and planning engagements.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years’ experience in an Australian public practice.
• CA or CPA qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (no visa sponsorship).
• Currently residing in Sydney.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Xero accounting software.
• Familiarity with HandiTax (preferred).
