Accountant – Australian Finance Team (Fixed‑Term, Potential Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Australian finance team of a global consumer products business. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this fixed‑term position offers the opportunity to become permanent and involves ownership of the local finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Support tax compliance and audit requirements.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to business stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements following a recent systems migration, collaborating with local and global finance teams.
• Work closely with the Global Shared Services team and external advisors.

Required profile

• Solid end‑to‑end accounting experience (Accountant, Senior Accountant or Bookkeeper).
• Strong month‑end experience with journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or product‑based environments is highly regarded.
• Positive attitude, high attention to detail and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Sage advantageous).
• Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
