About the role

A broad Accountant role supporting accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting, taxation and internal control functions across the Australia and New Zealand businesses. It is a permanent, full-time position based in Macquarie Park, NSW, with competitive remuneration and benefits. The role covers statutory reporting, taxation, audit and data analytics, and offers scope to strengthen controls and simplify and automate finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, reconciliations, workpapers and source documentation for income tax, fringe benefits tax, GST, withholding tax and transfer pricing.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting schedules, coordinate external audit requests and maintain complete supporting evidence.
• Coordinate and oversee selected fixed asset and intercompany activities.
• Perform routine and ad hoc control procedures, update control documentation and use trend and outlier analysis to spot unusual transactions and control exceptions.
• Work with Tax, Finance, commercial teams and shared services to improve compliance and strengthen ownership of finance activities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate recurring finance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with a CA, CPA or equivalent qualification completed or in progress.
• Relevant financial accounting experience in a complex or multinational organisation; regulated industry experience is advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet controls and statutory reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise during peak reporting periods.

Required skills

• SAP or a comparable ERP system (highly regarded).
• Strong Excel capability.
• Power Query, Power BI, workflow tools or finance automation (desirable).
