Account Director – Strategic FMCG Client Management

About the role

Mintel is looking for an experienced Account Director to act as the day‑to‑day commercial partner for strategic FMCG clients across Australia and New Zealand. You will build trusted relationships, drive product adoption and deliver strong renewal and expansion outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow relationships across assigned accounts through proactive communication and detailed follow‑up.
• Negotiate and close renewal and expansion agreements while ensuring high retention rates.
• Deliver regular business reviews and data‑informed solutions that demonstrate ROI.
• Create and execute territory and account‑level business plans aligned with growth objectives.
• Partner with Mintel subject‑matter experts to deliver solutions that address client priorities.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in account management, customer success, sales or a related client‑facing commercial role.
• Proven record of managing and growing strategic client relationships and achieving retention, renewal and revenue targets.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and usage insights to demonstrate value.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM platforms.
• Commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
