Account Assistant

About the role

Linksea, a fast‑growing furniture wholesale company serving major Australian retailers, is expanding its finance team. We are looking for an Account Assistant to manage accounts receivable, support client communications, and ensure accurate financial documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile invoices, track payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Liaise with key retail clients such as Forty Winks and Harvey Norman to resolve payment queries and negotiate repayment plans.
• Process, verify and archive financial documents including invoices, credit notes and delivery dockets.
• Answer inbound client calls regarding account balances, invoice discrepancies and credit notes.
• Prepare accounts‑receivable aging reports and assist with regular finance reporting.
• Support the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc tasks as the business scales.

Required profile

• Preferred 1–2 years experience in accounts receivable, credit control or finance coordination (wholesale/retail/FMCG background a plus).
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Administration or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, self‑motivated, organised and a team player.
• Excellent phone communication and negotiation skills, comfortable dealing with large retail buyers.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• Familiarity with MYOB, Xero or other ERP systems (training provided if needed).

What we offer

• Full‑time permanent position based in Smithfield, Sydney.
• Competitive salary range $65,000 – $70,000 AUD per year.
