24/7 Data Centre Technician

About the role

We are seeking a trades or technical professional with a mechanical background to join our facilities team as a Data Centre Technician. The role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift roster and includes comprehensive on‑the‑job training covering all aspects of data centre facility management and critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with vendor management for maintenance of core mechanical and electrical systems.
• Manage and support critical cooling infrastructure such as CRAC units, chillers and HVAC systems.
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot electrical distribution, cabling, building monitoring and fire protection systems.
• Provide Remote Hands support and respond to incident escalations to meet uptime commitments.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure seamless operations and installations.
• Enforce facility rules for visitors and contractors and perform manual handling tasks.
• Occasionally travel between sites as required.

Required profile

• Engineering background (Mechanical/Electrical) or relevant trade certification.
• Experience in mechanical, HVAC, electrical or building services environments.
• Basic understanding of data centre and cabling infrastructure (desirable).
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and proactive attitude.
• Australian citizenship.
