Workshop Facilitator - Dementia Support

About the role

Dementia Support Australia (DSA), a national dementia support service funded by the Australian Government and led by HammondCare, is hiring a Workshop Facilitator for its Hospital to Aged Care Dementia Support Program (HACDSP). You will work in diverse care settings, delivering workshops that build confidence and capacity among acute, residential care and community aged care professionals so they can better support people living with dementia. The role is based at the Chermside office and is a fixed-term contract until June 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging, evidence-based training programs and learning resources.
• Facilitate high-quality training sessions, workshops and presentations across care settings.
• Strengthen workforce capability through coaching, mentoring and targeted learning initiatives.
• Evaluate and continuously improve training effectiveness using participant feedback.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation.
• Stay current with best practice and emerging learning methodologies.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience delivering programs face-to-face and online.
• Proven training and education experience, ideally in healthcare, acute or residential care.
• Dynamic personality with strong rapport-building, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong learning agility, ability to work independently and in a team, and commitment to an inclusive learning environment.
• Current Australian driver's licence with a safe driving record and willingness to travel nationally and interstate.
• Desirable: understanding of dementia care principles, certification in dementia care or gerontology, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health or Allied Health and Education.
