Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE) Manager – APAC

About the role

The Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) Manager for the APAC region will lead the development and continuous improvement of health and safety strategies that protect personnel, safeguard assets and support Cubic’s growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage region‑wide WHSE programs aligned with Cubic’s business goals and compliance obligations.
• Promote a proactive risk‑identification and prevention culture throughout the organisation.
• Collaborate with global WHSE leaders to ensure APAC initiatives align with worldwide strategies.
• Provide expert WHSE support for major capital and operational projects from bid through delivery, embedding safety management systems into project lifecycles.
• Conduct safety reviews, audits, readiness assessments and incident investigations to de‑risk project delivery and meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor compliance with regional legislation, industry standards and client HSE requirements such as the WHS Act, Rail Safety National Law, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Maintain HSE registers, drive timely mitigation of identified risks and act as the primary WHSE contact for clients, regulators and contractors.
• Represent Cubic at regulatory, industry and client forums and provide reporting on WHSE metrics, incidents and improvements.
