Workday HCM Functional Consultant

About the role

Deloitte’s HR Transformation team is looking for an experienced Workday HCM Functional Consultant to join its consulting practice in Sydney or Melbourne. You will work on large‑scale Workday transformation projects, helping clients across industries optimise their HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into functional designs.
• Build consensus on process improvements and evaluate existing systems.
• Communicate Workday capabilities and guide clients through decision‑making.
• Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and resource efficiency.
• Provide recommendations to refine methods, procedures, and job functions.
• Interact continuously with client subject‑matter experts and configure the Workday application.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Core HCM and its integration with other Workday modules.
• Experience with HR functions, processes and leading practices.
• Proven ability to guide clients through complex decisions.
• Solid business analysis and requirements‑gathering expertise.

Required skills

• Workday Core HCM certification.
• At least two full Workday implementation lifecycles.
• Hands‑on functional configuration experience in one or more modules (Core HCM, Recruitment, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance, Security, Learning).
• Proficiency with Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
