Wellbeing Services Employee - Part Time

About the role

IRT Group, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is looking for a part-time Wellbeing Services Employee for its IRT Crown Gardens residential care home in Batemans Bay. Working within the Wellbeing Services team, you will plan, implement and oversee programs and activities that enhance the well-being and quality of life of elderly residents, meeting their physical, emotional and social needs.

The position is Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 3:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging onsite activities such as bingo, floor bowls, crafts and special events
• Help develop and plan social, recreational and cultural activities
• Assist residents on bus trips and community outings
• Support resident participation and offer warm companionship
• Make sure residents' needs, values and spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care or recognised equivalent, with competencies verified and approved by the delegated officer
• Certificate IV in Leisure & Health
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Knowledge of the needs of people living with dementia is desirable

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and prioritise work
• Empathy and initiative, with a passion for supporting older Australians
