Wayside and On-Board Service Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Wayside and On-Board Service Engineer for its Brisbane (Wulkuraka) site. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling tasks ranging from administrative to strategic. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out on-site maintenance in line with contractual KPIs
• Monitor, analyse and report on-site system performance
• Perform first-level troubleshooting on site and download logs and dump files from equipment for initial analysis
• Report daily maintenance performance to the client
• Follow OHS and STS HSMS rules and ensure local stock and repair processes are available

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician) is essential
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, including RPEQ, is desirable
• 2-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in rail signalling, with proven skills in electrical equipment and high-risk environments
