Water Treatment Operations Technician

About the role

The Water Treatment Operations Technician supports the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities at Williamtown, NSW, and provides field support to projects across Australia. The role combines hands‑on plant operation, equipment maintenance, and support for construction and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain water treatment plants, wellfields and associated infrastructure.
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on mechanical and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and process equipment, using HMI and SCADA systems.
• Collect water samples, coordinate laboratory analysis and prepare operational reports.
• Support construction, installation, commissioning and modification of treatment systems.
• Coordinate and supervise specialist subcontractors as required.

Required profile

• Experience in water treatment operations, industrial plant operations or related technical environments.
• Relevant trade or technical background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or similar.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia.

Required skills
