Watchroom Operator

About the role

Ventia is seeking Watchroom Operators to support its Fire and Rescue services at HMAS Albatross. This position offers a pathway into the emergency services and defence industry, providing hands‑on experience in fire station communications and incident support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain operational readiness in line with Ventia policies and guidelines.
• Respond to fire crews and coordinate communications with the Incident Controller as required.
• Assist the Officer‑in‑Charge with administrative duties linked to fire station operations.
• Participate in fire station training and development programmes.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and eligibility for Negative Vetting Level 1 defence security clearance.
• Hold at least one of the listed qualifications (e.g., PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury, PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment, PUATEA001 Work in a Team, PUACOM001 Communicate in the Workplace, PUATEA002 Work Autonomously).
• Strong team orientation and ability to work autonomously.
