Waste & Recycling Attendant

About the role

Cabrini Health is hiring a Waste & Recycling Attendant for its Malvern hospital. This is a permanent part-time position of 22 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday with occasional weekends, covering AM and PM shifts (8AM-5PM or 3PM-11PM). You will help transport waste and recycling bins and maintain the central waste facility and waste holding areas, supporting infection prevention, staff experience and the hospital's environmental footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Work efficiently with the Domestic Services team and the Contracted Services Coordinator
• Manage waste transportation across the hospital according to guidelines and as requested
• Segregate recycling streams such as cardboard, PVC, sterile wraps, bottle tops and batteries
• Operate machinery and transportation equipment safely and securely
• Manage waste bins in the waste holding areas safely and securely

Required profile

• Motivated, self-driven and resourceful, with attention to detail and a can-do attitude
• Previous waste management experience desirable
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and working on your feet for long periods
• Able to work with minimal supervision, with respect for colleagues and the workplace
• Good communication skills and a team player

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of OHS management requirements
