Volunteer - Therapy Assistant, Getting Ready for School

About the role

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is looking for volunteers to support its Getting Ready for School group, which helps children prepare for kindergarten and primary school. The program aims to increase classroom participation in fine motor skills, social skills, attention and literacy. Volunteers work alongside a team of therapists who help children feel confident and ready for the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with children with disabilities who are transitioning to primary school
• Contribute to strength and capacity building through evidence-based approaches
• Work in a team of experienced health professionals
• Collaborate on goal-directed therapy
• Observe progress over the course of the program
• Learn about the services offered by Cerebral Palsy Alliance

Required profile

• Aged 16 years and above
• NDIS Worker Screening
• Working with Children Check (NSW)
• Volunteers are encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19
