Visual Arts Teacher (Secondary)

About the role

Brisbane Boys' College, a GPS day and boarding school founded in 1902 educating students from Prep to Year 12, is looking for an experienced Visual Arts teacher to report to the Head of Arts. The position is based in Toowong, Brisbane, and is permanent and full-time, with a commencement date of January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Visual Art in the secondary school (Years 7-12), covering the QCAA General Visual Art syllabus
• Be familiar with the endorsement and confirmation processes for senior years, or be willing to learn them; the syllabus can also be taught if endorsement and confirmation are not yet met
• Experience teaching in the junior years (Prep-6) is looked on favourably
• Comply with college policies, including occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection and confidentiality, and uphold the college's traditions and Christian ethos

Required profile

• A relevant education degree
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
• First aid certification, or willingness to obtain it
• Strong sense of teamwork and collegiality, and a high level of integrity and professionalism
• Diplomacy and tact, and a strong affiliation with or understanding of the college's mission and vision
