Virtual Medical Secretary (100% Remote, Part‑time)

About the role

VMORE is looking for a Virtual Medical Secretary to join its remote team on a part‑time basis. You will support multidisciplinary healthcare providers by handling patient communications, scheduling, billing and administrative tasks, all from the comfort of your home.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and manage patient bookings.
• Process clinic outpatient billing and issue receipts.
• Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence accurately.
• Manage theatre lists, surgical bookings, fee estimates and pre‑operative arrangements.
• Maintain quality standards and uphold Australian Privacy Principles.
• Maintain task, time and recall registers.
• Provide a personalised approach to patients and act as an ambassador for VMORE.

Required profile

• Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Strong multi‑tasking ability with meticulous attention to detail.
• Organised, autonomous yet able to work cooperatively with team members.
• Comfortable using technology and adaptable to various software platforms.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of practice management software (e.g., Genie, Gentu, Clinic to Cloud, Xestro, Coreplus, Shexie, MediRecords).
• Understanding of Medicare and Health Fund terminology.
• Proficiency with Office365.
• Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative role within a surgical specialty practice.
• Commitment to upholding Australian Privacy Principles.
