Virtual Financial Controller / CFO (Base + Commission)

About the role

Simic Financial is seeking a Virtual Financial Controller or Virtual CFO Advisor to join its fast‑growing team. The position is hybrid, with some days in the Geelong office and the remainder remote, offering flexible full‑time or part‑time arrangements. You will work alongside a senior Virtual CFO Advisor, managing a portfolio of high‑growth SMEs across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on financial management, including budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and profit analysis.
• Prepare and present financial forecasts, reports and strategic recommendations to client leadership.
• Act as the primary virtual CFO for assigned SMEs, delivering advisory services on M&A, capital raising and international expansion where applicable.
• Collaborate with the internal business development team to grow client revenue and meet net‑revenue targets.
• Support clients in industries such as trades, construction, technology startups, manufacturing and hospitality.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CFO, finance manager or senior controller, preferably within an SME or virtual advisory setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in M&A advisory, capital raising, or startup finance.
• Ability to transition from traditional accounting to high‑impact strategic advisory.
• Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving profitability.

• Base salary of $100,000 AUD plus a commission structure (20% of net revenue from managed clients).
