Veterinary Nurse (Part-Time)

About the role

A part-time Veterinary Nurse is sought at Greencross Vets Helensvale Square on the Gold Coast, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and the option to take on additional shifts. The role is hands-on and covers all aspects of patient care and clinic operations, within a team of three veterinarians, six nurses, a Practice Manager and a Vet Director.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily clinic workflow and client experience
• Assist with consultations and surgical procedures
• Monitor anaesthesia and patient recovery
• Take and process radiographs
• Perform dental prophylaxis
• Administer medications and treatments
• Collect pathology samples and assist with diagnostics
• Nurse hospitalised patients
• Maintain clinical and infection-control standards

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a clinical nursing role
• Strong understanding of veterinary nursing procedures
• Confident anaesthetic monitoring skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Catheter placement, blood collection, TPRs and triage
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience with RxWorks is highly regarded but not essential
