Veterinary Nurse - Part-Time

About the role

A part-time Veterinary Nurse is sought to join the Greencross Cannington team, a clinic co-located within a busy Petbarn retail store. The clinic is well equipped and supported by a large, experienced team of vets and nurses, and offers a good balance between work and life.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised, compassionate care to patients and their owners
• Care for, handle and clean animals
• Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the clinic, including surgical areas and equipment
• Perform general nursing duties such as pre- and post-operative care, pathology, anaesthetic monitoring and assisting with emergency and critical care cases
• Perform minor procedures when required
• Handle reception duties: greet clients, answer enquiries in person and by phone, book appointments, manage accounts, admit and discharge patients

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
• 2+ years' experience in a veterinary nursing role
• Excellent animal handling skills
• Flexible, adaptable approach and enjoyment of teamwork

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures
• Good organisational, communication and customer service skills
• Experience with Rx Works (ideal but not essential)
