Ultrasound Site Lead

About the role

Imaging Queensland is looking for an experienced Sonographer to become Ultrasound Site Lead for its Deception Bay and Margate practices. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position combining clinical expertise with leadership, supporting a high-performing ultrasound team while continuing to deliver excellent patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of scans, including general, MSK, vascular, obstetrics and gynaecological studies.
• Collaborate with radiologists and colleagues to maintain high standards of clinical care, patient experience and service delivery.
• Ensure rooms are restocked and cleaned and patients are finalised.
• Provide senior clinical oversight and support across the assigned site(s).
• Facilitate communication between the Chief MIT and the Sonography team.
• Lead, mentor and help train existing sonographers.
• Champion imaging quality, workflow and patient experience, and foster a supportive team culture.

Required profile

• Graduate Diploma or Master's of Medical Ultrasound with current ASAR registration.
• Ideally 2+ years of postgraduate ultrasound experience.
• Competence in a range of exams including breast, general, MSK, obstetrics and vascular.
• Willingness to work across both Margate and Deception Bay sites.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team, and to commit to ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Experience with Canon and GE ultrasound machines is ideal.
• Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
