Transportation Area Manager

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Transportation Area Manager to lead yard operations at its newest fulfillment center in Kemps Creek. The role focuses on coordinating dock, receive and ship teams, ensuring FIFO processing, and protecting the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a safety‑first culture and oversee on‑time arrival and departure performance of trucks.
• Communicate with multiple stakeholders to streamline truck flow and report yard performance to site leadership.
• Identify root causes of structural issues, lead resolution, and implement Lean tools for process improvement.
• Work flexible shifts, including occasional weekend coverage, to support Amazon’s 7‑day fulfillment network.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team while managing incidents in collaboration with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in people and performance management with strong stakeholder communication.
• Ability to analyze data, make recommendations, and influence change at local and global levels.
• Flexible schedule availability for shifts, weekends, nights, or holidays.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VBA, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH).
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
