Training Specialist – Rail Maintenance

About the role
Loram is seeking a Training Specialist to design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes that support operators and frontline staff in rail maintenance. Based in Perth, you will ensure training aligns with corporate, regulatory and safety standards while fostering continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, procure or redesign training programmes to build employee competencies in line with corporate and regulatory policies.
- Deliver targeted training sessions across all operations teams and support onboarding of new employees and contractors.
- Maintain training administration structures, generate reports on training status and ensure alignment with the “Loram Way”.
- Provide on‑the‑job coaching to leaders and frontline workers, and advise on workplace improvements.
- Establish feedback channels for continuous improvement and liaise with Registered Training Organisations to meet formal competency requirements.
- Stay current with industry knowledge through workshops, professional development and networking.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of front‑line operational requirements in rail maintenance.
- Significant experience as a trainer or technical writer with functional knowledge of rail machines and equipment.
- In‑depth knowledge of competency frameworks and training assessment tools.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities, with a proven capacity to build relationships across all business levels.
