Training & Safety Coordinator – Mining Operations

About the role

The Training & Safety Coordinator will support Pantoro Gold’s Norseman Gold Project by managing training programs, competency records, and safety initiatives across underground and open‑pit operations. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will work closely with operational leaders to ensure a safe, compliant, and skilled workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain site training and competency systems.
• Facilitate inductions, onboarding, and ongoing training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory training requirements and internal procedures.
• Maintain accurate training records, matrices, and competency documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of safety systems and programs.
• Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety initiatives.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and observations.
• Collaborate with operational departments to identify training needs.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the workforce.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of mining safety systems, training compliance, and competency management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
• Current C class driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with training management systems.
