Trainer and Assessor - Aviation Transport Security

About the role

ACESGroup is looking for an experienced Trainer/Assessor to lead the next generation of aviation security professionals. The role is based at the Redfern training centre in Sydney and involves delivering nationally accredited security courses. Interstate candidates who can travel as required are welcome. The position reports to the RTO Manager and works closely with the operational and recruitment teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess Certificate II in Transport Security Protection programmes.
• Train new aviation security personnel for passenger and cargo screening.
• Facilitate in-person, online and hybrid assessments while giving one-on-one support to learners.
• Track student progression and guide them through their learning journey.
• Assist with course content updates, industry compliance and national delivery standards.
• Facilitate training in the Redfern Training Rooms and at airport and cargo facilities.
• Take part in professional development, validation and RTO compliance activities.

Required profile

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain it).
• AVI20325 Certificate II in Transport Security Protection, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years' experience in aviation security with strong operational knowledge.
• Current or eligible ASIC.
• Desirable: Certificate II or III in Security Operations.

Required skills

• Proven ability to train, coach and support learners face-to-face and online.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Desirable: experience using online LMS platforms.
