Terminal Operator – 24/7 Rail Operations

About the role

Pacific National is seeking a full‑time Terminal Operator for its Port Augusta rail terminal. The role operates 24/7 in a busy rail environment, supporting the safe movement of freight such as coal, intermodal containers, steel and bulk commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform train shunting and marshalling activities within the terminal.
• Maintain safety and efficiency while working in a 24/7 operational setting.
• Follow all safety, operational and compliance procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve service and productivity targets.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and receive support from experienced staff.

Required profile

• Valid C Class Driver’s Licence (essential).
• Experience in a container terminal, rail yard, port or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong safety focus and commitment to safe work practices.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first attitude.
• Willingness to work a rotating day and night roster.
