Temporary Junior Primary Teacher (Reception to Year 2)

About the role

We are seeking a temporary classroom teacher for a Reception to Year 2 class at Manoora Primary School. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons to junior primary students and support the school’s literacy and mathematics programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the LGU phonics and morphology scope and sequence as part of daily literacy instruction.
• Use a problem‑solving approach in mathematics to develop students’ critical‑thinking and reasoning skills.
• Plan, deliver and assess learning experiences in line with the South Australian Curriculum.
• Participate in whole‑school combined lessons and activities, fostering collaboration across the school community.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and families, monitoring progress and providing feedback.
• Engage in professional development, staff meetings and school events, contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn and apply the LGU phonics and morphology scope and sequence.
• Experience or understanding of a problem‑solving approach to mathematics teaching.
• Familiarity with the South Australian Curriculum or similar frameworks.
• Ability to design engaging and differentiated learning programmes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to collaborative practice and participation in whole‑school activities.
