Technology Products Technical Lead

About the role

Crown Equipment is looking for a curious and motivated engineering graduate to join its growing Technology Products team in Smithfield. This newly created role sits at the intersection of engineering, product and operations, working alongside technical specialists and with Sales, Service, customers and global engineering teams. It covers lithium battery systems, charging infrastructure, telematics and automation in live customer environments, and involves customer demonstrations, site assessments, solution design, commissioning and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Support customer demonstrations, product trials, installations and commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments and power studies to design battery, charging and infrastructure solutions.
• Review and develop CAD drawings for applications using Crown's Technology Products.
• Assist with the design and configuration of automation, telematics and motive power solutions.
• Investigate product and system issues, identify causes and work with Engineering to implement solutions.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation, drawings, specifications and support resources.
• Assist in managing technical product data across connected products and systems.
• Develop training materials, technical resources and practical tools for Service personnel.
• Support the introduction of new products and technologies into the Australian market and build internal technical capability.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Interest in automation, energy systems, industrial technology, connected products or material handling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, curiosity and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work across office and field environments; industry experience is not essential.

Required skills

• CAD capability; AutoCAD experience viewed favourably.
• Ability to break down technical problems and communicate solutions clearly.
