Technical Trainer – Motor Claims

About the role

This pivotal role shapes the technical capability of Motor Claims consultants, from onboarding new team members to designing ongoing development programmes that keep people sharp, confident and customer‑focused. You will be the go‑to expert for technical knowledge, coaching support and process improvement, partnering closely with Motor Claims leaders and the Learning & Development team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver coaching and technical knowledge training to Motor Claims consultants and leaders.
• Design and implement a technical training model that enhances capability and productivity.
• Own ongoing content management of learning materials and the knowledge base.
• Identify knowledge gaps and technical trends, turning them into actionable coaching and training solutions.
• Support onboarding of new team members and help them transition confidently.
• Provide trend data and progress reporting to the Leadership Team.
• Partner with the Learning & Development team to continuously improve induction programmes.
• Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
• Ensure changes are executed and embedded through a Change Program framework.
• Maintain compliance with business risk policies and relevant legislation, challenging them when necessary.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Motor Claims role (preferred) and solid knowledge of insurance legislation and procedures.
• Excellent coaching skills, ideally using the Coaching Conversations methodology.
• Strong customer service orientation aligned with the Customer Connections methodology.
• Ability to spot and document performance improvement opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
• Confidence working autonomously in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong time‑management and prioritisation skills with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Comfort with change and resilience to help others navigate it.
