Technical Support Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Support Officer to join Ellenbrook Secondary College. The role provides front‑line ICT assistance to staff, handling day‑to‑day operations, help‑desk queries and routine maintenance across the school’s technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line help‑desk support, including password resets and user training on school applications.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers, copiers, projectors, interactive smartboards and other AV equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Ensure ICT assets comply with Department of Education policies and school procedures.
• Document incidents and resolutions in the help‑desk system.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Understanding of major operating systems and portable devices.
• Ability to work independently in a school environment and support staff with varying technical abilities.

Required skills

• Windows operating system.
• macOS operating system.
• Installation and maintenance of AV equipment (projectors, interactive smartboards).
• Printer and copier troubleshooting.
• Help‑desk support and password‑reset procedures.
• General hardware and software troubleshooting.
