Technical Accountant – Statutory & Tax Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a technically‑strong Accountant to become the statutory and tax expert within our finance team. This newly created, highly visible position will support a PE‑backed business operating across Australia and international markets, playing a critical role in our growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements and manage the year‑end audit process.
• Own the tax and compliance calendar, including BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax and income tax obligations.
• Coordinate international compliance with external advisors.
• Oversee corporate governance, statutory reporting and entity compliance.
• Support tax planning, transfer pricing and technical accounting matters.
• Contribute to group restructuring, governance improvements and future M&A activity.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve finance processes.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (CA or CPA) with a passion for technical accounting.
• Experience in audit, tax or business services, or a commercial accounting role with a desire for broader ownership.
• Strong ability to interpret legislation, understand governance requirements and ensure compliance.
• Exceptional communication skills to build relationships with senior leaders, external advisors and international stakeholders.
