Team Leader, Wholesale and Dealer Credit

About the role

The Team Leader, Wholesale and Dealer Credit reports to the Manager Credit Operations and is responsible for leading a team of credit professionals while overseeing wholesale and dealer credit activities. The role balances customer outcomes, portfolio quality and risk management, driving both team performance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Wholesale and Dealer Credit team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage workflow, resource allocation and performance to meet service levels and turnaround times.
• Review and approve dealer, corporate and wholesale credit applications, annual reviews, modifications and extensions in line with policies.
• Analyse financial statements and credit risk indicators to support lending decisions.
• Act as escalation point for complex credit matters and provide expert guidance.
• Build strong relationships with dealers, customers, sales teams and key stakeholders.
• Support system enhancements, process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Prepare and contribute to management, risk and business performance reporting.

Required profile

• Experienced people leader with background in financial services, banking, automotive finance or similar credit environment.
• Strong credit and risk assessment capability with ability to analyse financial information.
• Proven experience coaching, mentoring and developing high‑performing teams.
• Exceptional communicator and relationship builder able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, banking, business or related discipline (or equivalent experience) valued.
