Team Leader – Infrastructure Support (Rail)

About the role

The Team Leader Infrastructure Support will head a small trade crew responsible for the maintenance and construction of rest houses, facilities and rail corridor assets. Based in Port Augusta, the role involves hands‑on carpentry, general construction and ensuring all works meet ARTC safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of up to 5 tradespeople on rail infrastructure projects.
• Perform carpentry and general construction tasks, including building and repairing rest house accommodation.
• Construct and install culverts, sheds and other rail corridor structures.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily site activities, often in remote locations.
• Maintain effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with ARTC standards and WHS requirements.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified Carpenter.
• Proven ability to supervise and lead small teams.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and rail safety legislation.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home up to 80% of the time.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
