Team Coordinator or Team Coordinator - Peer Specialist

About the role

Flourish Australia is looking for a Team Coordinator or Team Coordinator - Peer Specialist to join its Commonwealth Psychosocial Support team on the Sunshine Coast. You will help the manager supervise and guide staff, support their skills through in-service training, and take part in frontline service delivery with people who have a lived experience of a mental health issue. The position is closed-term, full-time (76 hours per fortnight) until 30 June 2027, subject to funding, with Monday to Friday hours and hybrid work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the manager in implementing programs, policies and local procedures, and in planning and coordinating projects when required.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to lower or similarly classified employees.
• Facilitate discussions about each person's needs and goals, and help develop, implement and monitor individual plans.
• Encourage people to build skills such as domestic, social, independence, education and employment skills.
• Make sure individual support matches recovery goals and is strengths-based and person-led.
• Peer Specialist: use lived experience and personal recovery to mentor people with a lived experience of a mental health issue, applying recovery knowledge and peer work philosophies while keeping professional boundaries.

Required profile

• Certificate IV or above in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of community experience in a mental health setting.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role and in supporting or supervising lower-classified staff.
• Strong commitment to and advanced understanding of recovery-based practice.
• Excellent knowledge of the local area and its health and community services.
• Current Australian driver's licence; appointments require NDIS worker screening, criminal history check, WWCC, reference checks, Australian residency and other background checks.
• Peer Specialist only: a personal lived experience of a mental health issue.
