About the role

The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is seeking qualified teachers to join Tasmanian Government schools across the state. Roles are available in district, high, isolated, hard‑to‑staff and support schools, covering a range of learning areas. Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum in designated subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Health and Physical Education.
• Implement evidence‑based and trauma‑informed teaching practices.
• Mentor and collaborate with fellow educators to foster professional growth.
• Build strong relationships with students, families and the wider school community.
• Contribute to inclusive, supportive school environments where every voice is valued.

Required profile

• Registered teacher with appropriate qualifications for the teaching level.
• Willingness to work in regional or remote locations, particularly on the North‑West and West Coast.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and mentorship.
• Ability to adapt to diverse school contexts and support student wellbeing.
