Tax Accountant

About the role

Tax Advisory Strategists Pty Ltd advises clients on tax structuring and asset protection, helping individuals and businesses make informed decisions when circumstances change, such as buying into or selling a business or seeking funding. It is hiring a full-time Tax Accountant in Brisbane, QLD, on a hybrid basis with some work from home.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day tax compliance and preparation for individual and business clients, including tax returns, BAS and related filings
• Review financial statements, perform reconciliations and ensure accurate accounting records in line with regulatory requirements and firm policies
• Provide tax advice on business structuring, asset protection and key transactions
• Assist in preparing reports and documentation for client meetings
• Collaborate with colleagues, respond to client queries, monitor legislative changes and contribute to process improvements

Required profile

• Strong tax compliance and preparation skills, with solid knowledge of Australian tax law and regulations
• Tax advisory and planning skills, including guidance on business transactions and structuring
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CA/CPA or progress toward it is highly regarded
• Experience in public practice or tax advisory firms, especially with small to medium enterprises, is beneficial
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, clear communication and ability to work independently and in a team in a hybrid setting
