About the role
The Tax Accountant ensures Lactalis Australia complies with all taxation obligations across local and international jurisdictions. You will prepare and lodge accurate tax returns, BAS/IAS, and statutory filings while maintaining robust workpapers and supporting the Taxation Manager with technical advice.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare annual income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
- Lodge Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and produce payroll‑related FBT schedules.
- Complete monthly BAS/IAS returns for all entities.
- Produce six‑monthly tax estimates and group tax reporting schedules.
- Maintain tax‑sensitive general ledger accounts and post tax journals.
- Provide technical tax advice on corporate, GST, and FBT matters.
- Support cross‑border tax compliance, including transfer pricing and withholding taxes.
- Assist with M&A activities, due diligence, and integration considerations.
- Liaise with internal teams and external auditors, tax authorities, and revenue agencies.
Required profile
- 2‑3 years of experience in a professional firm or corporate tax department, preferably Big 4 or second‑tier.
- Bachelor’s degree in Taxation and Accounting (required).
- CA/CPA qualification or Master of Taxation (near completion) is advantageous.
- Moderate knowledge of Australian corporate tax, GST, and FBT.
- Understanding of international taxation and mobility matters is a plus.
