Talent Acquisition Officer (Clerk Grade 5/6)

About the role

The Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a Talent Acquisition Officer (Clerk Grade 5/6) to lead high‑volume recruitment for its Corrective Services portfolio. You will manage end‑to‑end hiring processes, provide strategic advice to managers, and ensure compliance with NSW public sector recruitment policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute recruitment marketing campaigns and attraction strategies.
• Source, pre‑screen, and manage candidate pipelines for a range of roles.
• Coordinate interview schedules, assessment panels and provide candidate feedback.
• Advise managers on talent‑management strategies to close capability gaps.
• Monitor recruitment metrics, ensure compliance, and continuously improve processes.
• Travel occasionally to assessment centres across NSW as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in recruitment and selection within a public‑sector or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of NSW recruitment legislation and public‑sector policies.
• Ability to build positive candidate relationships and deliver excellent stakeholder service.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills.
