TAFE Teacher – Fitting & Machining (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time TAFE teaching role at CQUniversity Gladstone offers experienced fitters and machinists the chance to move from the workshop to the classroom, delivering the Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade. No prior teaching experience is required; you will be supported to gain a fully funded TAE40122 qualification while working.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on training and mentorship to apprentices in both workshop and classroom environments.
• Prepare and mark assessments within paid working hours, ensuring compliance with VET standards.
• Teach approximately 22 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime when formally required.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Current hands‑on industry experience in fitting, machining, equipment maintenance and safe workshop practices.
• Interest in mentoring apprentices and guiding learners through practical and theoretical components.

What we offer

• Starting salary $107,697 per year (equivalent to $56.93 hr) plus 17% superannuation.
