Systems Engineer – Infrastructure & Cloud (Rockhampton/Capricorn Coast)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our growing IT services team in Central Queensland. The role combines onsite work on the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast locations with remote administration, offering a balanced hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server, Azure, and virtualisation environments (VMware or Hyper‑V).
• Administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365 services.
• Monitor and support network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless, VPNs and routing.
• Deliver infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations and deployments.
• Handle backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Produce accurate documentation and ensure compliance with site safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Senior Systems Administrator.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper‑V).
• Ability to manage complex escalations and deliver projects on time.
