Systems Development Manager, Network Core

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Systems Development Manager to lead a new world‑class team responsible for high‑performance, large‑scale networking capabilities. The manager will drive software development roadmaps, oversee product lifecycles, and ensure operational excellence for critical network services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design, development, code reviews, testing, deployment and post‑launch monitoring of software solutions supporting internal teams.
• Lead a team that establishes organizational standards for operational excellence and resiliency.
• Develop and maintain project roadmaps and communicate them to stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with internal partners to understand requirements and ensure high‑quality system operation.
• Provide hands‑on technical contributions, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years managing system or software development teams.
• 5+ years hands‑on systems engineering in networking, storage or operating systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience leading large, complex programs and delivering highly scalable systems.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with AWS services or other cloud platforms.
• Automation and root‑cause analysis in an operations environment.
• Strong communication of complex technical concepts.
