Systems & Applications Administrator

About the role

Silentium Defence is seeking an experienced Systems & Applications Administrator to join its IT team. The role involves hands‑on technical administration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of a diverse technology environment supporting the company’s advanced Australian defence solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and support Microsoft 365 and key business applications.
• Maintain and improve servers, storage, networking components, backup systems and core platforms.
• Support endpoint management, device configuration and corporate mobile devices.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated hardware, software and network issues.
• Ensure secure system configurations and assist with implementation of approved security controls.
• Coordinate with vendors and third‑party providers to resolve technical problems.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, configuration records and knowledge‑base content.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline IT processes and contribute technical input to projects and upgrades.

Required profile

• Relevant experience or tertiary qualification in IT, computing or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365 services and supporting Windows workstations.
• Strong background in network configuration, server administration and endpoint management.
• Proactive, customer‑focused attitude with the ability to manage competing technical requirements.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 security clearance; a current driver’s licence is desirable.
