Systems Administrator – Vulnerability Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator with a focus on vulnerability remediation to join a large, complex enterprise on a cyber‑security uplift initiative. You will work closely with the Cyber Security team to strengthen the organisation’s security posture through automated patching, configuration improvements and system upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Remediate security vulnerabilities via patching, configuration changes and system upgrades.
• Manage the full vulnerability remediation lifecycle, including planning, testing, change management and implementation.
• Develop and implement automated patching strategies aligned with the ACSC Essential Eight.
• Deploy automated solutions for OS and application patching across servers, workstations, mobile and IoT devices.
• Configure Group Policy, Microsoft Intune policies and scripting solutions to address security configuration gaps.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of remediation activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cyber‑security and infrastructure management practices.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in Systems Administration, IT Operations or a similar technical role.
• Demonstrated experience in vulnerability remediation across enterprise environments.
• Recent experience delivering vulnerability management in large corporate or government settings.
• Ability to work across multiple stakeholders while managing competing priorities.
