Systems Administrator

About the role

Port Macquarie Hastings Council is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to ensure the reliability, security and performance of its enterprise infrastructure. The role works across hybrid environments, supporting on‑premise Windows Server and Active Directory alongside AWS, Azure and Microsoft 365.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Maintain core services including servers, networks, telephony, backup/recovery and security.
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues.
• Support design and implementation of infrastructure for digital transformation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.

Required profile

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
• Solid Microsoft 365 and Windows Server administration capability.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach to problem solving.
